Martinez Residence - Merida, Mexico
The Galloway group provided architectural design for a 5,000 sq. ft. custom villa within the Yucatan Country Club. The formal entry stairs lead to a private front courtyard separating a guest casita and the main residence. The entry into the grand foyer views over a sunken formal living room and a vaulted hallway leads past the children’s private rooms and the formal dining room toward the large open great room with views of the central pool court and a rear loggia and outdoor kitchen overlooking the Jack Nicklaus golf course. The master suite is designed as a separate building, a private retreat with its own access to the pool court and a private sun deck overlooking the rear yard and fairway beyond. A four car garage, game room and maid’s quarters are situated on the lower level around a subterranean courtyard that brings light to these areas. A private office tower accessible from a separate stairway provides dramatic views across the pool court to the golf course - a perfect space within a space. A tropical landscape concept softens the architecture and creates naturalistic private areas within the estate.
